As part of radio station XFM’s Winter Wonderland, which this year was staged over two nights, very quickly sold out and in aid of Shelter charity.
On the Sunday 11th of december, the Brixton academy stage saw the likes of Editors, Hard Fi, Dead 60's, Maxïmo Park and with the Kaiser Chiefs headlining what must have been a very fine evening with a very homogenous bill.
However I was more interested in the Monday night's ‘mixed bag’ line up to include Morning Runner, Athlete, the Go! Team, Graham Coxon, Richard Ashcroft and Supergrass headlining.

With Graham Coxon unfortunately cancelling his appearance at the last minute, due to a voice problem and therefore eliminating any real form of competition, I was faced with a no-brainer.....the Go! Team ruled the night!
Only criticism from me was that they were on stage too soon, their set was too short and half the punters had, shamefully never heard of them, but now no more!.....

A different venue, event and yet again a brilliant, show stealing performance from the Team!
However no review from me this time!
As a Go! Team addict I accept that my work ethics have been seriously compromised. I could always refer you back to my previous review - Paris 05.10.2005-
The only advice I can give you at this time, is that if your idea of a good night out is spending some time watching a bunch of glued to the spot moody rockers staring endlessly at their dirty Converse, still crying about the loss of their first love, 20 years ago, then please, avoid the Go! Team at all cost as these guys will cause you lasting damage !
They will mercilessly throw at you mood lifting, ‘happy go lucky’ , booty shaking, beautifully crafted tunes.
On the other hand, if you’ve just lost your job, girlfriend, nan, goldfish..... and need a little emotional TLC, give the recently re-released, improved, best ever, scientifically proven and with added bits ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’ LP a spin, or better still, catch the Team live, at a good venue near you.
Spend some time in their company, and I can guarantee that you will leave the gig having totally forgotten how empty your life is now that Bubbles has gone to heaven.
