This month we’ve spent some time basking in the past
and immersing ourselves in the 60s and 70s music scene.
Firstly with the gentle and simple melodies of international
troubadour Donovan
and recently rediscovered Vashti Bunyan,
but also French icon
Serge Gainsbourg’s
extravagant compositions as interpreted
by the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted
by composer/ arranger Jean- Claude Vannier.
When not picking flowers out of my hair,
I was chatting to London bands,
The People Revolutionary Choir
and The Clientele
who despite their musical differences
were both chosen to tour with
The Brian Jonestown Massacre
and therefore joining a rather exclusive club
[ there will be more on that in next month’s issue ].
Seminal 90s band My Life Story are back together and on a London stage in December and we have one pair of tickets for you to win. |
