Leeds quintet The Kaiser Chiefs have come to Paris to test new tunes from their long awaited, forthcoming second album en avant- premiere !
Or are they testing French audience?
Well their public was present, as ever faithful and devoted and the bouncing Pop band enjoyed every minute of it, yes! yes! yes!

Tonight we find ourselves in a rather intimate venue and I love those unexpected meetings, away from long lasting, repetitive and exhaustive tours. After such a long pause since the Kaiser’s last French visit, excitement can be felt and a special feeling of privilege. |

So here we are, with frontman Ricky Wilson his usual shouting, jumping and joking self, dispersing so much energy that the stage’s vibrations rip through the venue. I can only recommend my experience of tonight’s gig: have a photo pass, be in front of the band with a red hot audience right behind you and feel the groove and energy going from your belly to your head as the band kicks off with previous hit ‘Everyday I Love You Less And Less’.

As always, Ricky enjoys interacting with his fans and during the show manages to learn a few French words.
Unfortunately the Trabendo doesn’t lend itself to stage diving or crowd surfing, depriving Mr Wilson from his usual time off stage and close to ‘the people’, even though he tried several times.
Parisians would be hard pressed to forget his antics during past performances at La Cigale and Bataclan, much more challenging playgrounds where he even felt the needs to climb balconies.
To our disappointment but not for his lack of trying there will be no acrobatics tonight.

But to get back to the subject in hand, this evening is all about presenting us with new material and here it comes with such tracks as ‘Angry Mob’, ‘Heat Dies Down’, ‘Ruby’, ‘Everything Is Average Nowaday’ and ‘Retirement’, all very melodic with skull penetrating choruses but however no riot!
An audience too attentive to express itself is the risk taken when bands unveil new songs for the very first time.
However it’s fair to say that we are not witnessing a musical departure from debut album ‘Employment’ but then again why should we as it was so loved and such a success!

So you’ve been warned, The Kaiser Chiefs are back and in top form!
