Welcome to a new issue of Flomotions.com
This month’s instalment marks our first birthday, so over the last few weeks, feeling self- indulgent [what with that one candle to blow and Christmas around the corner], and wanting to treat ourselves and hopefully many of you, we have concentrated our efforts on seminal American band The Brian Jonestown Massacre .
In keeping to a theme and as a second part to our November issue, we decided to interview bands that have been hand-picked to open for The BJM on their latest European tour. Showing off their eclectic taste, they shared a stage with young Icelandic upstarts Jacobinarina in Reykjavik and benefited from Australian band The Morning After Girls ’ visit to the UK to invite them to Southampton, Leeds and on other English dates.
Always eager to bring good bands to the forefront and unable to resist a good opportunity, we spent some time with band members Collin Hegna and Rob Campanella chatting about their other projects, respectively Federale and The Quarter After and of course got a reliable and truthful insight into the life of The BJM in the process.
Also and as a favour to non- French reading fans, we have translated journalist Basile Farkas ’ copious spread on The Brian Jonestown Massacre, from this month’s issue of French magazine Rock&Folk .
Lastly but not least, the septet has gracefully accepted to sign a Swedish poster for one of you lucky people, to WIN!
Hoping that you've enjoyed a wonderful and merry Christmas, Leo and Florence join forces to wish you the best new year ever! Happy 2007!
